Poem: The Summer Position

The Summer Position

It is March.
Already she moves into
The summer position
Even though there is still
Snow on the ground.
Hands clutch the plastic tray
(Where the Cheeri-o's go)
Pulling away from the padded seat
Wanting a view of everything
Surveying regally.
She moves into the summer position
Waving at everyone like a queen
In her snowman fleecy.
